Business Development and Sales Director Opportunity

COEL is introducing a new Business Development & Sales Director role to strengthen its work-winning capability and support sustainable growth. Based at the Cambridge head office and reporting to the Managing Director, this senior position will lead the overall business development strategy, ensuring a strong and well-managed pipeline of opportunities. The role is central to aligning sales execution with marketing, bid quality, and commercial governance, working closely with Commercial, Preconstruction, and Delivery teams to secure the right projects in the right markets.

This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. The successful candidate will oversee pipeline management, CRM discipline, and sales performance, while building and maintaining senior relationships across clients, consultants, and industry stakeholders. They will play a key role in shaping win strategies, improving bid conversion, and ensuring all proposals and presentations are commercially robust and aligned with COEL’s brand and values. In parallel, they will collaborate with marketing to enhance market visibility, generate high-quality leads, and strengthen brand impact.

As a member of the senior leadership ecosystem, the Business Development & Sales Director will lead and develop a high-performing growth team, fostering collaboration across departments and embedding a consistent, data-driven approach to sales.
